Moving…the joys….
So for the past 2.5 years I’ve lived with 4 other guys in a rental house. It’s been fun and definitely a learning experience. I got stories and then stories on top of those. When the first 4 guys moved in, it was the perfect storm. I was looking for a place since my parents were moving to Colorado Springs and I didn’t want to be by myself. Peter’s time was up at their apartment that he was renting with a couple other guys. Chad and Bobby lived together with a couple guys out in the boondocks (more commonly known as Arlington) and they wanted to move so we all got the house.
It wasn’t a house that I’d move into or buy if I had a family but it was the perfect bachelor pad. 2000 sq ft, all the common living space was downstairs with the 4 rooms upstairs. So we wouldn’t have to worry about anyone walking out underclothed in the presence of friends or strangers. We had the big screen TV (thanks Chad) to go along with our 3 couches (I said bachelor pad) and multiple chairs. The “dining room” was where we kept another couple chairs along wit the computer. Over the 2.5 years we’ve had plenty of group hangouts that some amassed to more than 25 people. Here is a quick rundown by the numbers:
By the Numbers:
Sq Footage: 2000
Rent: 1200-1250
Years Rented: 2.5
Housemates: 6 (not all at one time)
Unique Visitors: 217 (exact, I promise :P)
Couches: 3
Seating in the Living Room: 18
Stains on the carpet: 41
Official parties held: 11
Unofficial parties held: 27
Hours spent cleaning: 16.83
Cars owned by housemates: 12 (not all at once)
But now with a roommate getting married, we are splitting up abit. I’m moving in with one of my friends and the other 3 are moving into an apartment together. It’s going to be good…once I finish moving. So we are out August 1st and we are dedicating the last 3 or so days to cleaning. With our busy schedules, we are allowing ourselves plenty of time to do it.
Peace, love, and dust bunnies!
PS: If you want or need a twin bed, loveseat or weight bench, I got em…for free. Leave a comment and I can send you pics or just look on facebook.
The list of numbers cracks me up!
